Rules for Connecting Your SCXI Modules and Chassis to Your DAQ Device

Hardware: SCXI>>Modules

Problem:
I have an SCXI chassis with several SCXI modules in it. Two of them work fine, but the other two don't respond. Is there some order that the modules need to be in?

Solution:
You need to connect your DAQ device to the SCXI module with the highest precedence. For instance, if you have both analog input modules and digital modules, you need to cable to an analog input module.

The SCXI Quick Start Guide specifies that the DAQ device should be cabled to the module that is the highest on this list:
  1. SCXI-1140, SCXI-1520, SCXI-1530, or SCXI-1531

  2. SCXI-1100 to SCXI-1123

  3. SCXI-1125 to SCXI-1159 (except the SCXI-1140)

  4. SCXI-1540 or SCXI-1581

  5. SCXI-1160 to SCXI-1179

  6. SCXI-1124
The SCXI-1180 feed-through accessory is not considered an SCXI module for the purposes of precedence.  It connects to the auxiliary port on the cable assembly regardless of which SCXI-Module the cable assembly is attached to.
