FP-3000 Does Not Appear in the ConfiguratorPrimary Software: Driver Software>>NI-FBUSPrimary Software Version: 2.3.5 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: The FP-3000 does not appear in the Configurator. Solution: The FieldPoint Fieldbus network interface module (FP-3000) requires NIFBUS 2.3 or later in order to be seen on the bus. The FP-3000 requires that the host software be able to instantiate function blocks. This functionality was added in version 2.3. In addition, you need the FP-3000 Device Description (DD) files, which you import to NIFBUS using the Interface Configuration Utility. To do this, select a board, choose DD info, choose import DD, choose Browse, select the DD supplied with the FP-3000. DD files have the extension .ffo and .sym. When browsing, selecting the .ffo file will also import the .sym file. Once you have started the Configurator, double click on the Resource Block (RB) of the FP-3000. Click on the Options tab and find the parameter FP_AUTOCONFIGURE. Change it from Run to Autoconfigure. Click on the Write Changes button. Now the FP-3000 will instantiate function blocks for each channel on each IO module you have connected. NOTE: The auto-configuration utility of the FP-3000 is a time saving function. Without it, function blocks must be instantiated and named by hand. Related Links: Attachments:
