Thermocouple Measurement Configuration is Incorrect for the SCC-TC0x Modules in VirtualBench-DMM 2.1.2Primary Software: Other NI Software>>VirtualBenchPrimary Software Version: 2.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: To configure a thermocouple temperature measurement reading in the VirtualBench-DMM a user must specify the CJC source and CJC channel. When using the SCC-TC0x modules the CJC signal comes in on channel x+8. When this channel is selected in the configuration the measured value is incorrect. BUT, if the user selects "cjtemp" the value is correct. Based on the documentation for the SCC-TC0x module there is no "cjtemp." Solution: In VirtualBench 2.1.2 this behavior is present, it has been fixed in VirtualBench-DMM 2.51 After upgrading, you can go to Settings under the Edit pull-down menu. Then you will need to set the Temperature Sensor as needed, Temperature Units as needed, TC Cold Junction Source as Thermistor [Vref), and Cold Junction Channel as 8 more than the channel you are reading to get the correct voltage. Using "cjtemp" as you channel will give a realistic value but one that is a little lower than the actual temperature. This should solve any problems with the CJC issue.
