How Can I Synchronize Two DAQCard-700/1200s?

Hardware: Legacy DAQ Devices>>Multifunction DAQ>>DAQCard-700, Legacy DAQ Devices>>Multifunction DAQ>>DAQPad-1200

Problem: I want to synchronize two DAQCard-700/1200s so they perform analog input using the same sampling clock. I am familiar with synchronizing devices using the RTSI interface, but DAQCards do not have access to the RTSI interface.

Solution: To synchronize the analog input, you need to synchronize the channel clocks on both devices by doing the following:
  1. Set the channel clocks for both devices for external input, which uses EXTCONV (pin 40).

  2. Configure one of the counters to generate a pulse train starting on a level trigger supplied to the gate of the counter.

  3. Route the counter output to the EXTCONV pin on both devices.

The devices are now synchronized for acquiring analog input.
