Archived: Why Am I Seeing Error 15426 When Accessing the Advanced Ethernet Settings for My Real-Time Controller?

This document has been archived and is no longer updated by National Instruments

Primary Software:
Primary Software Version: 7.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Utility Software>>Measurement & Automation Explorer

Problem: I would like to adjust the ethernet settings for my Real-Time controller by using the Advanced Ethernet Settings button in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). However I get error 15426 when I attempt to use this feature. What's wrong?

Solution: Error 15426 occurs when you have a second ethernet connection, such as a second network interface card (NIC) or wireless network connection, in addition to the connection over the crossover cable to the remote system. When the additional network connection is disabled, the error should go away.

When connecting to your Real-Time controller over a crossover cable, it is common to notice slow communication with the remote system. The slow communication can be improved by changing the ethernet communication to half-duplex from full duplex. With LabVIEW Real-Time 7.1, this can be done through the Advanced Ethernet Connections in MAX.

If further problems occur, please Request Support from a National Instruments Applications Engineer.
