Why Can’t I Add Traditional DAQ Channels in VI Logger 2.0?Primary Software: Other NI Software>>VI LoggerPrimary Software Version: 2.0.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: When I attempt to add a new channel in VI Logger 2.0, I only see options for DAQmx devices. However, I want log data from a traditional DAQ device as well. Solution: With VI Logger 2.0, traditional DAQ support is only available in the FULL version. This version contains support for both traditional DAQ and DAQmx. VI Logger 2.0 Lite, on the other hand, only supports DAQmx. Thus, if traditional DAQ is not an option when adding a VI Logger channel, check the following: 1) Make sure that traditional DAQ has been installed. This can be done by expanding the “Software” tree under “Configuration” in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). If traditional DAQ is not listed, it must be installed before creating a traditional DAQ channel. 2) Make sure that VI Logger has been activated. Until VI Logger has been activated, it will operate as the lite version and its full capabilities will not be available. To enable these capabilities, VI Logger must be activated with the NI License Manager. This can be found at: Start >> All Programs >> National Instruments >> NI License Manager. Once in NI License Manager, VI Logger can be activated by right-clicking on its listing and selecting: “activate.” Related Links: KnowledgeBase 3J7G099E: VI Logger Lite vs. VI Logger Full Attachments:
