NI PXI-5600/5661 Self Test Failure After Previous Use as NI PXI-5600/5660 Hardware: Modular Instruments>>RF Measurement Devices>>PXI-5660, Modular Instruments>>RF Measurement Devices>>PXI-5661
Problem: I am using an NI PXI-5600 as the downconverter for an NI PXI-5661 vector signal analyzer that was previously used as the downconverter for an NI PXI-5660 vector signal analyzer, but a self-test in MAX displays a failure error code -200324 as shown in the following image: In addition, when trying to use the NI PXI-5661 with the NI-RFSA drivers in LabVIEW, the error code -1074118643 is returned as shown in the following image: How do I correct these errors for my NI PXI-5661 to operate correctly? Solution: When the NI PXI-5600 is used as part of an NI PXI-5660 (i.e. the NI PXI-5620 is used as the digitizer) and then used as part of an NI PXI-5661 (for example, the NI PXI-5142 is used as the digitizer), the NI PXI-5600 must be reset in MAX for the NI PXI-5661 to operate properly in MAX and with the NI-RFSA driver. To reset the device in MAX, right-click on the NI PXI-5600 listing under "NI-DAQmx Devices" and select "Reset Device" as shown in the following image: Until the NI PXI-5600 is reset in MAX, the NI PXI-5600/5661 will fail Self Test and produce an error when trying to use the NI-RFSA drivers.
