Resman Crash When Run from the Start Menu or Anywhere Else Outside of MAXHardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers
Problem: I have Measurement & Automation Explorer 4.0 installed. Resource Manager(Resman) runs fine from within MAX, but crashes when called programmatically, as an executable, in autoResman, Resman on startup, from the Start Menu, or anywhere outside of MAX. Solution: This is an issue that was exposed with MAX 4.0 and was fixed in NI-VXI 3.5. This can occur when upgrading LabVIEW or any other software that includes MAX. This problem can also occur when installing a National Instruments product such as TestStand that includes the LabVIEW 8.x Run-Time Engine. To fix this issue, upgrade to the latest version of NI-VXI. Another option would be to replace the dll file found in \Program Files\National Instruments\VXI\niresmanengine.dll with the attached dll patch. Which patch you use is dependent on your version of NI-VXI. The patches below fix the issue in NI-VXI 3.3.1 and NI-VXI 3.5.
