Cannot Open a Project VI in LabVIEW That Uses The NI-845x Drivers

Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI, Instrument Connectivity Other>>USB>>USB-485/2

Problem:
I created a VI in LabVIEW that references the NI-845x resource control. When I try to open this VI from within Project Explorer, nothing happens or LabVIEW crashes. The VI opens correctly when outside of a project. Why is this happening?

Solution:
To fix this behavior, browse to the LabVIEW/resource/objmgr directory and locate the NI845x.rc file. Modify the loadFunction: ni845xLVLoadFunc line by placing ///// (5 forward slashes) in front:


You may also replace your existing NI845x.rc file with the attached NI845x.rc file, which has the fix implemented.
