A VI With Reference to USB-8451 Crashes LV8.5/8.5.1 When Opened/Run from a Project

Problem:
I created a VI in LabVIEW 8.5/8.5.1 that references the NI-845x resource control. LabVIEW project is crashes the VI is opened/run from the Project Explorer. When opened as a single VI (not as a part of a project) the VI works fine. How can I fix this?

Solution:
To fix this issue you can go into LabVIEW 8.5/resource/objmgr and find the NI845x.rc file. Modify the "loadFunction: ni845xLVLoadFunc" line to place '/////' (5 forward slashes and no quotations) in front.

You may also replace your existing NI845x.rc file with the attached NI845x.rc file, which has the fix implemented.
