I Cannot Change the Options for the NI OPC Server

Problem:
I'm trying to change the options for the NI OPC Server by selecting Tools»Options, but I receive an error message saying An unsupported operation was attempted.  How do I fix this?

Solution:
This issue was first seen with certain versions of the NI OPC Server that install with LabVIEW DSC Module 8.5.1. To fix this:
  1. Download the attached folder to your desktop.
  2. Unzip the folder to obtain the dll.
  3. Close all National Instruments software.
  4. Navigate to National Instruments\Shared\NI OPC.
  5. Delete or rename serverres.dll from the folder and replace it with the dll from the desktop.
  6. Open the NI OPC Server, and select Tools»Options. You should no longer see the error.
