FPGA Target Support for Execution on Development Computer with Real I/OHardware: CompactRIO, Reconfigurable I/O (RIO)
Problem: I do not want to compile my FPGA VI, but want to test it on the development computer using real I/O. Which FPGA targets support this option? Solution: Currently, this option is available only on R series devices (Compact RIO platform is not supported). This includes the following model numbers:
You can access the option to execute the VI on the development machine by right-clicking on the FPGA target from the Project Explorer window and selecting Execute VI on»Development Machine with Real I/O. When this option is selected, the NI-RIO driver uses pre-compiled bitfiles to communicate with the I/O terminals through the FPGA target.
