GPIB-ENET Installation and Configuration under Windows NT
Hardware: GPIB>>External Controllers/Convertors>>GPIB-ENET
Problem: How do I install and configure my GPIB-ENET in Windows NT?
Solution:
- Be sure that you installed the GPIB-ENET on the network on the same subnet (hub) as your computer and connected the power cable.
- If your GPIB-ENET has not yet been assigned an IP address, then you must assign an IP address to it.
- Go to Start » Settings » Control Panel and open the GPIB Configuration Utility, which will launch the GPIB Configuration window:
- Click the Board Type button and select GPIB-ENET, as shown below:
Click OK.
- Click the Configure button in the GPIB Configuration window. This will open a GPIB# (GPIB-ENET) window, like this one:
- Enter the IP address of the GPIB-ENET in the Host Name field and click OK. This will configure your computer to communicate with the GPIB-ENET.
- Click OK in the GPIB Configuration window.
- You are now ready to connect instruments to the GPIB-ENET and communicate with them. See the Introduction to the Interactive Control (IBIC) page for more information.
