Wire Gauge Sizes for DAQ Connector Blocks and SCXI Terminal Blocks

Hardware: Compact FieldPoint>>Connector Blocks

Problem: What gauge wire can our DAQ connector blocks and SCXI terminal blocks take?

Solution:

AWG Definition: American wire gauge (AWG), also known as the Brown & Sharpe wire gauge, is a standardized wire gauge system used in the United States and other countries, especially for nonferrous, electrically conducting wire. Increasing gauge numbers give decreasing wire diameters.

SCB-68-68: AWG in the range of 14 to 26.

TBX-68: A maximum of 3.80 mm^2 corresponds to AWG larger than 14.

CB-50, SC-2040, SC-207x, and AMUX-64: Screw terminals in these blocks accept wire up to gauge 14

SCXI Terminal Blocks:
Terminal blocks that accept up to gauge 16 (smaller):
1300, 1303, 1322, 1326
Terminal blocks that accept up to gauge 14 (larger):
1304, 1320, 1321, 1325, 1327, 1328

In general, the terminal blocks for larger channel-count modules like the SCXI-1100, 1122, and 116x use the smaller size (AWG 16) screw terminals.
