NI PXI-1052 Chassis Identification in MAX with Traditional NI-DAQ

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQ
Primary Software Version: 7.4.4
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: SCXI>>Chassis>>PXI-1052, SCXI>>Chassis>>PXI-1011

Problem:
When I right-click in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) to install my PXI-1052 chassis through Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy), I don't see an option to select PXI-1052. How do I add and configure my PXI-1052 chassis in MAX using Traditional NI-DAQ?

Solution:
The PXI-1052 chassis must be configured as a PXI-1011 chass in Traditional NI-DAQ. (The PXI-1011 was the predecessor to the PXI-1052.) After selecting PXI-1011 from the list of PXI chassis to add, follow the standard process of selecting the SCXI boards that you have installed since you need to configure the PXI-1052 as both the SCXI chassis and PXI system. The following screenshots illustrate the process of adding a PXI-1052 to MAX under Traditional NI-DAQ.
  1. Right-click on Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) Devices and select Add SCXI Chassis.

  2. On the Select SCXI Chassis screen, select PXI-1011.

  3. The SCXI modules should be subsequently auto-detected, and the PXI-1052 system will appear as a PXI-1011 along with its modules in MAX.

Note: For more information on SCXI installation/configuration or for instructions on installing a PXI-1052 system in MAX using NI-DAQmx, please refer to the PXI-1052 User Manual and the SCXI Quick Start Guide linked at the end of this document.
