My PXI Express Controller Will Not Shut Down

Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI

Problem:
I have a PXI Express Controller that will not shutdown.  Every time I shutdown the controller from Windows it reboots never allowing me to turn off the power to the system.

Solution:
There is a specific configuration of PXI Express Controllers and Modules that are susceptible to this issue.  If you have any of the following PXI Express Controllers and Chassis with one of the following modules then please contact one of our Applications Engineers for assistance by going to ni.com/ask .

PXI Express Controllers:
  • PXIe-8130
  • PXIe-8106
  • PXIe-8105
  • PXIe-8103

PXI Express Chassis:
  • PXIe-1062Q
  • PXIe-1065

Modules:

Not all revisions of the modules listed below are susceptible to this issue.  You can verify whether your modules are susceptible by examining the PXI connector located at the back of the board.  Use the following image as guidance.

To the right side of this connector you will see rows of pins which protrude from the board. If both the 2nd and 3rd rows are not populated (there are no pins), then the module is NOT susceptible.
