Problem: I am using VI Logger 2.0 to record data. After I collect the data, I want to export the values to an Excel 97 spreadsheet. When I export the data, I get the message "Error when Launching Excel". Why do I get the error message? Solution: VI Logger 2.0 is official supported with Microsoft Excel 9.0 (Office 2000) and later. VI Logger was designed and tested with this version during development. When you install VI Logger it installs support for the version of Excel installed on the system, if you have Microsoft Excel 9.0 or later. If you use previous versions of Excel with VI Logger, you will get the "Error when Launching Excel" error. By placing a checkmark in the View in Excel when task stops checkbox in the Task Attributes you can display the data in Microsoft Excel from VI Logger. You also can click the View in Excel button that appears in the Real Time Data and Historical Data views after the task runs. Microsoft Excel opens to display the data in a table.
