Primary Software: Lookout
Primary Software Version: 6.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: 6.0
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I have a Citadel 4 database that I'd like to convert to a Citadel 5 database.  How can I accomplish this?

Solution:
The conversion process takes place in the Historical Data View folder in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).
  1. Launch MAX by navigating to Start»All Programs»National Instruments»Measurement & Automation.
  2. Expand the Historical Data View folder. If your Citadel 4 database already appears in the Historical Data View then skip to step 7.
  3. Right-click on the Historical Data View folder and left-click Create New....
  4. On the resulting Create New... wizard window select Create Citadel 4 Database and click Next.
  5. In the top box specify the computer in which the database will be located in. In the second box select the directory of your source, or Citadel 4, database.
  6. Press the Finish button. Notice your database now appears under the Historical Data View folder.
  7. Right-click on the Historical Data View folder and left-click Create New....
  8. In the resulting Create New... wizard window select Convert Citadel 4 to Citadel 5 Database and click Next.
  9. In the Choose Which Database to Convert combo box select the name of the Citadel 4 database you wish to convert.
  10. In the Conversion Settings frame you can choose to put the new database in the default directory or you can select to customize the name and path.
  11. Click the Finish button.
You should now have both a Citadel 4 and a Citadel 5 version of your database.
