How Do I Convert a Certificate to PEM Format?

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQmx
Primary Software Version: 7.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>Wireless DAQ

Problem:
The WLS-9163 has support for certificates but only supports certificates in PEM format (Base-64 encoded format). How can I convert a certificate to a different format for the WLS-9163?

Solution:
In cryptography, a public key certificate (or identity certificate) is an electronic document which incorporates a digital signature to bind together a public key with an identity — information such as the name of a person or an organization, their address, and so forth. The certificate can be used to verify that a public key belongs to an individual.

The WLS-9163 only supports certificates in PEM format (Base-64 encoded format), if you have a certificate in a different format, you can use the built in Windows utility to convert the certificate to PEM (Base-64 encoded format). The steps you need to follow are:
  1. Right click the certificate and select Install Certificate.
  2. Go to Control Panel and open your Network Connections.
  3. Right click on your Local Area Connection and select Properties.
  4. Then select the Authentication tab.

  5. Click Properties and search for your Certificate in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities list.

  6. Then click on View Certificate and then click on the Details Tab

  7. From this tab, click on Copy to File and then select Base-64 encoded X.509.

  8. From here just follow the Wizard until the end
