SignalExpress User-Defined Steps with LabVIEW 8.x VIsPrimary Software: LabVIEW SignalExpress>>Development SystemPrimary Software Version: 1.2 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I'm creating a user-defined step using SignalExpress 1.1.1 or 1.2 (Tektronix Edition) and a VI created with LabVIEW 8.x. When I select my VI, however, no inputs or outputs appear and most of the Step Setup dialog box is disabled (as shown below). I have followed all of the directions for preparing a VI for use with SignalExpress as a user-defined step. What's going on? Solution: SignalExpress 1.1.1 and SignalExpress 1.2 only support User-Defined Steps created in LabVIEW 7.1.x. This functionality has been added to SignalExpress 1.1.1 and 1.2 with the release of SignalExpress Patch_1.1.1.0004 and SignalExpress Patch_1.2.0.0001, giving you the ability to create User-Defined Steps in LabVIEW 7.1.x, 8.0.x, and 8.2.x. Please visit the SignalExpress 1.1.1 and 1.2 Drivers and Updates pages linked below to download and read more about these patches. Note: Without this patch, saving a VI from LabVIEW 8.0.x to 7.1 by selecting Save For Previous is not enough to be able to run the VI as a User-Defined Step. Additionally, the VI needs to be opened and saved in LabVIEW 7.1.
