After Installing NI-HSDIO 1.4, MAX Hangs When I Try to Expand the Software Tree

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-HSDIO
Primary Software Version: 1.4
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I installed NI-HSDIO 1.4, and my computer does not have LabWindows/CVI installed. During the NI-HSDIO installation, I manually chose to install the LabWindows/CVI LabWindows/CVI components. Now, MAX hangs if I try to expand the software tree.
How can I resolve this?

Solution:
If LabWindows/CVI is not installed and you manually choose to install the LabWindows/CVI NI-HSDIO components, NI-HSDIO 1.4 writes an invalid registry key. To fix this problem, remove the LabWindows/CVI components from the installation by completing the following steps:

  1. From the Windows Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs, select National Instruments Software, and click Change.
  2. In the new window that appears, click on NI-HSDIO 1.4 in the list of NI Products.
  3. Click Modify
  4. In the NI-HSDIO installation screen, find the entry for LabWindows/CVI Support. Change its status to Remove this Feature.
  5. Complete the remaining steps in the installation.
