Problem: I just upgraded from Measure 1.x to Measure 2.0. What are the major changes between these versions?
Solution: There are three major features that were included with Measure 2.0. They are:
- Virtual Channel Support: Measure 2.0 now allows you to use Virtual Channels with your DAQ tasks. This allows you to type in virtual channel names in your tasks, and the scaling that you've set up in the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) for those channels will be automatically applied to your acquired data.
- Inclusion of ComponentWorks: The Measure 2.0 CD includes the ComponentWorks 2.0 Base Package installer. You can use ComponentWorks ActiveX controls in your Excel spreadsheets to enhance the functionality of your workbook, and also to achieve any desired functionality that is not already present in Measure.
- Inclusion of the Measure-to-ComponentWorks Converter: The Measure-to-ComponentWorks Converter is a tool that ships with Measure 2.0 that converts Measure tasks to Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) forms using the ComponentWorks ActiveX controls. The converter works with ActiveX container versions of Excel, which includes version 8.0 (Excel 97) and later. Once converted, the VBA form is used in an Excel macro.
