PCI-7041 (RT Plug-In Board) Driver May Hang System if Combination of Drivers is Installed

Problem:
The following combination of software can give the "MAX Database Connection Error" or hang when viFindRsrc is called:

• NI-VISA 4.x
• PXI Platform Services 2.3
• PCI-7041 RT Plug-In Board driver (Nov 2005 and earlier Device Driver CD)
• NI-VXI
• Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) 7.x

 

Solution:
You may have to apply the following steps:

1. Download the attached disableVXI.reg file and save it your desktop.
2. Merge this registry fix into your Windows registry by double-clicking on the file. You must reboot your machine for this fix to take effect.
