Limit Switches Do Not Work Correctly With NI-Motion Hardware

Hardware: Motion Control>>Power Drives

Problem: After configuring my National Instruments motion controller card and my National Instruments Drive, my limit switches do not work correctly. The home switch on Axis 1 does not ever change state, and all of the limits on Axis 2 do not seem to work at all.

Solution: Check to ensure that you have the correct cable for your motion control system. This behavior arises when you use a SHC68-C68-A (Analog Cable) in place of a SHC68-C68-S Motion Cable (Part #186380). Both of the cables will connect to the motion controller card and the drive; however, the analog cable has common ground pins which prevent the system from working correctly. Please refer to the link below for the pricing information on the motion control cable.
