How Do I Enable/Disable Dithering on My DAQ Device Using Measurement Studio ActiveX Objects?

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQ
Primary Software Version: 7.2
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Measurement Studio>>Visual Basic Support
Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>E Series

Problem: I want to enable or disable dithering on my data acquisition (DAQ) device using Measurement Studio ActiveX Objects, but I cannot find a property or method to allow me to do this. How can I enable or disable dithering?

Solution: Measurement Studio ActiveX objects do not have a property or method to enable or disable dithering on DAQ devices. However, this feature can be enabled or disabled by calling a Traditional NI-DAQ function directly.

Use the function MIO_Config, which is contained in nidaq32.dll. This function can be called like any normal DLL function. The documentation for MIO_Config installs with NI-DAQ. Navigate to Start»Program Files »National Instruments»NI-DAQ »Traditional NI-DAQ Function Reference Help for more information about this function.
