Problem:
I receive the following error when using a PCI NI digital waveform generator/analyzer:

Error -250033 occurred: NI-TClk committed a session, and the instrument driver reported an error.

What is causing this error?

Solution:
This error has been known to occur in two cases:
  • The RTSI cable is improperly connected between the PCI devices.  Verify that the RTSI cable is securly connected to each device's connector.
  • The RTSI cable is improperly configured in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).  To configure a RTSI cable, complete the following steps:
    1. Expand Devices and Interfaces»NI-DAQmx Devices in the configuration tree.
If you are using a remote RT target, expand Remote Systems, find and expand your target, and expand Devices and Interfaces»NI-DAQmx Devices.
    2. Right-click the RTSI cable you want to configure. Select Properties.
      –or–
Select the RTSI cable you want to configure. Click Properties in the MAX toolbar.
    3. In the RTSI Bus Line Reservation window, select the checkboxes of lines reserved for use by instrument drivers other than NI-DAQmx. Any lines left unchecked may be driven by NI-DAQmx.
    4. Click OK when you are finished.
