Does NI-DAQmx Base Support Individual Digital I/O Line Configurations?

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQmx Base
Primary Software Version: 2.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I have a USB-6008 device and after looking at the manual, I have noticed that it supports individual digital I/O line configurations on both ports. However, when I install DAQmx base onto the device and when I try to configure each line for input/output, I get unexpected results. For example, I can turn on different lines on a port, but I can only turn off line0. I thought my device supports line configurations?

Solution: The DAQmx base driver does not support individual digital line configurations. For example, the driver cannot support digital line0 as an input and digital line1 as an output on port0. You can, however, control specific lines to be set on and mask the other lines to be off. To control and mask lines on a digital port, simply go to the NI-DAQmx Base Task Configuration Utility and create a new digital task. Select the port you would like to use by clicking Port Selection. Next, go to Line Selection and set the lines you would like to use by setting them as ones. Set lines to be off by setting them to be zeroes.
