How Do I Configure Alarm Areas in the LabVIEW DSC Module?

Problem:
When looking at a historical database for alarms created in the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module, there is an Area entry that is listed for each alarm. Also, when configuring alarms in Lookout, there is an Area that must be defined. I have searched through the LabVIEW DSC menus and the Online help, but have not found any information about specifying Alarm Areas in LabVIEW DSC. How are they configured?

Solution:
LabVIEW DSC 7.x and Earlier and Lookout:
When creating tags in the Tag Configuration Editor of LabVIEW DSC, there is an option to specify the tag group. The tag group is the same as the alarm area when looking at the historical database or when working in Lookout. The tag group option can be found on the General tab of the properties dialog window for an individual tag. By default, a tag group of <ALL> is used until another group has been created and is specified.

LabVIEW DSC 8.0 through DSC 8.5.x:
In LabVIEW DSC 8.0, tags were replaced by shared variables. After creating your shared variable, select Alarming from under the Category window of the Shared Variable Properties. This will show the alarming properties page. Check Enable Alarming and then select Configure. This will bring up the alarming configuration window. Inside of this window is the Area field. Select Help, or the LabVIEW DSC Module 8.2 Help link below, for more information on this and other fields. The attached image is a screenshot that shows the above described process.
