Can I Use Different Sample Clocks for Correlated DI and DO?Hardware: CompactRIO>>Digital Input Modules, CompactRIO>>Digital Output Modules, Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>M Series
Problem: On M-Series and CompactDAQ multifunction data acquisition boards, both Digital Input (DI) and Digital Output (DO) tasks can be correlated (clocked) by a desired internal or external signal. Can I use a different signal for the DI and DO tasks? Solution: Yes. For instance, you could use your Analog Input clock as the sample clock for DI while using the Analog Output clock as the sample clock for DO. For M-Series devices, only port 0 supports correlated Digital Input/Output (DIO). Therefore all of your DI and DO lines must be on port 0, but you can use different signals for the DI and DO tasks. The direction (input or output) of lines on port 0 is selectable on a per-line basis. For CompactDAQ devices, only modules in slots 1 through 4 support correlated DIO. Therefore, you must put your DI or DO modules in these slots to use correlated DI or DO. See pages 35 through 38 of the CompactDAQ User Guide and Specifications in the related links section for more information. The direction of digital lines on CompactDAQ modules depends on what module you are using. See the linked KnowledgeBase for more information.
