Prevent Auto Start of Measurement & Automation Explorer or SignalExpress for USBPrimary Software: Utility Software>>NI Instrument Driver FinderPrimary Software Version: 1.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: Currently, when I plug a USB device into my computer, Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) or SignalExpress starts up automatically. How do I prevent this? Solution: The NI Device Monitor is a service that will launch certain NI software if a NI USB device is plugged in and detected. This may be undesirable when distributing applications with the MAX configurations already included. To disable the automatic startup of NI software, in the Windows taskbar notification area, right-click on the NI Device Monitor to get to its shortcut menu and select Clear all device associations. This closes all of the service's references to any USB devices that are currently plugged in. Also, uncheck the Run at startup option in the shortcut menu of NI Device Monitoroption to disable the service upon reboot. The NI Device Monitor can be started again by navigating to Start»Programs»National Instruments»NI-DAQ»NI Device Monitor.
