Error -18 when Installing a New National Instruments License File Primary Software: Other NI Software>>NI Volume License ManagerPrimary Software Version: 2.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I recently received a new license file from National Instruments. When I install the license file, I notice the error License server system does not support this feature. (-18,327) in my debug log. Why do I receive this error?Solution: This error is received because there were licenses checked out when the new license was installed. Thus, when the server is restarted with the new license installed, the license signatures that have been checked out do not match the signatures on the new license file. This discrepancy is then recorded in the debug log. This is not a problem however, because those who have already checked out a license will be able to continue to use their software. After these computers check the license back in, the next time they check a license out, it will check out from the new license file, and this error will no longer be seen.
