Can I Use an SB-GPIB/TNT and a GPIB-ENET from the Same Solaris 1 or 2 Environment?Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-488.2Primary Software Version: 2.3 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A Hardware: GPIB>>Plug-in Controllers>>SB-GPIB/TNT, GPIB>>Plug-in Controllers>>SB-GPIB, GPIB>>External Controllers/Convertors>>GPIB-ENET
Problem: The SB-GPIB/TNT NI-488.2 Solaris driver is different from the GPIB-ENET NI-488.2 Solaris driver, so the SB-GPIB/TNT driver will not control a GPIB-ENET and vice-versa. Am I able to install both drivers, so that I could control an SB-GPIB/TNT and a GPIB-ENET from the same Solaris platform? Solution: Both drivers can be installed on the same Solaris platform, but the drivers must be used completely separately. For example, if an application is compiled with the language interface from the SB-GPIB/TNT driver, that application will not be useable with the GPIB-ENET and vice-versa. So, one cannot write an application in C which uses both the SB-GPIB/TNT and the GPIB-ENET simultaneously. LabWindows/CVI, however, can be used to access an SB-GPIB/TNT and a GPIB-ENET from the same application. Related Links: Attachments:
