Error 1003 When Using the Microsoft Office Report Express VI

Problem:
I am using the MS Office Report Generation Toolkit. Whenever I try to use the MS Office Report Express I get a broken arrow and Error 1003. Why is this happening?

Solution:
This error means that the toolkit VIs are not linking correctly with the Express VI. You can go through the following troubleshooting steps:


  1. Copy all files from the Toolkit CD to the hard drive and install the Toolkit once again from the hard drive location

  2. The MS Office Report Generation Toolkit is entirely ActiveX based. Hence it is essential that the ActiveX servers are registered on the computer.

  3. If re-installing the RGT does not solve the problem, perform a complete reinstall of MS Office so that the ActiveX servers are re-registered on the computer.

  4. Once Microsoft has registered the ActiveX servers, this should get reflected in LabVIEW and the RGT. Hence the linkage Error 1003 should go away.
