DAQmx I/O Control Displays Error Message When Trying to Use the Browse Function

Problem:
I am creating an executable using LabVIEW 8.6 and DAQmx 8.7.2.
In my block diagram I have created an I/O control to specify the channels to acquire from.

When I click on the control to get the drop-down list of channels there is also a Browse function available. When I select that option from the built application I get the following error message.



Solution:
This behavior is a known issue which has been fixed in NI-DAQmx 8.8.

Two possible solutions are

1. To use a later version of DAQmx. The download page can be found in Related Links
2. Run the application as a VI and not an executable
