NI-DNET with Group 2 (M/S) and Group 3 (UCMM) Messaging

Problem:
Does NI-DNET support Group 2 (Master/Slave) and Group 3 messaging (UCMM)?

Solution:
NI-DNET supports both Group 2 and UCMM messaging.

When establishing the connection with the device, NI-DNET can detect whether the device supports Group 2 messaging or not. It uses Group 2 messaging if the device is a Group 2 device, so you will not need to call a "Group 2" API explicitly. You can use ncGetDnetAttribute() to send Set Attribute Single messages. The example "Get Identity Attributes" shows how to develop the related application. The text-based examples are located in the \Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DNET\*\Examples\Get Identity Attributes folder, where * is the text-based language that you are using.
