NI ELVIS Error -9312 Occured at Elvis Comm - Check Elvis Connection.vi

Problem:
When I open NI ELVIS and click on Configure I get Error -9312 Occured at Elvis Comm - Check Elvis Connection.vi

Solution:
You may have already performed what the error suggests and reseated your cable and cycled the power on the ELVIS chassis. If this does not work please try the following to troubleshoot the cause of the error.

  1. Make sure your cables are functional and properly seated..  It is possible that you have a bad cable or bent pins on the cable.
  2. Assure you have specified the proper device in application. i.e. Dev1, Dev2....
  3. Download and install the latest NI-ELVIS driver.
  4. Check to see if this occurs on another PC.  It may be helpful to try on a different computer model as well as the same model to determine whether the computer's architecture is preventing the detection of the NI Elvis.
If you are still having trouble your ELVIS chassis or DAQ device my need to be repaired. To troubleshoot the DAQ device you can use the DAQ Diagnostic Utility Version 2.0 for Windows 2000/XP.
