Using the NI USB-DAQ 9237 with SignalExpress 1.x Primary Software: LabVIEW Signal Express>>Development SystemPrimary Software Version: 1.1.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A Hardware: CompactRIO>>Analog Input Modules>>NI 9237
Problem: I have an NI-USB 9237 module that works fine in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX), but it doesn’t show up in the device list when I create a "DAQmx Acquire" step in SignalExpress 1.x, why is this? Solution: When you create a DAQmx Acquire step in SignalExpress 1.x, a Voltage task is created. You cannot create a Voltage task with the NI 9237, only Strain and Custom Voltage with Excitation tasks can be created. A great way to solve this problem is to upgrade to LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.0 as it has the DAQ Assistant integrated into it. LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.0 is included with NI-DAQmx version 8.5 and later. A free download of NI-DAQmx 8.5 is linked below. If upgrading to LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.0 is not an option, then you can use a LabVIEW Plug-in to access your 9237 with SignalExpress 1.x. Please refer to the linked Developer Zone Tutorial for directions.
