Upgrading to Test Executive 5.1.1

Problem: I have a previous version of Test Executive (4.x or 5.x) and have just acquired Test Executive 5.1.1. How do I go about upgrading to 5.1.1?

Solution: Before upgrading to Test Executive 5.1.1, be sure to backup your operator interface, callback, and test VIs (as you may be able to still use these VIs in Test Executive 5.1.1) and unistall your older version.

Upgrading from Test Executive 5.1 to Test Executive 5.1.1
  1. Recompile your previous operator interface, callback and test VIs (this must be done so that they use the 5.1.1 type definitions)

  2. Test Executive 5.1.1 will have new versions of 'Configure Test VI Callback.vi' and '"Format Test Results.vi'


Upgrading from Test Executive 5.0 to Test Executive 5.1.1
  1. Recompile your operator interface, callback and test VIs (this must be done so that they use the 5.1.1 type definitions)

  2. Test Executive 5.1.1 will have new versions of 'Configure Test VI Callback.vi' and 'Format Test Results.vi'

  3. You will need to update sequence files by doing the following:

    1. In LabVIEW launch the Sequence File Converter by going to:

      • For LabVIEW 5.1.x: Project Menu » Test Executive » Utilities » Sequence File Converter

      • For LabVIEW 6.0: Tools Menu » Test Executive » Utilities » Sequence File Converter

    2. You will get a converter panel where you will choose the sequence file to convert. Click on the 'Open' button and browse to the sequence to
      convert

    3. Click on the 'Convert to 5.1' button to convert the sequence file to a format compatible with Test Executive 5.1.1

    4. When finished click on the quit button

Upgrading from Test Executive 4.0 to Test Executive 5.1.1

  1. Test Executive 5.1.1 will have new versions of all the operator interface and callback VIs. If you made any changes to your operator interface or callback VIs, you will need to re-implement your changes in Test Executive 5.1.1. These VIs cannot be recompiled as they can when upgrading from Test Executive 5.0 or 5.1. You need to start off fresh, with the VIs in 5.1.1

  2. Recompile your test VIs (this must be doen so that they use the 5.1.1 type definitions)

  3. You will need to update sequence files by doing the following:

    1. In LabVIEW launch the Sequence File Converter by going to the

      • For LabVIEW 5.1.x: Project Menu » Test Executive » Utilities » Sequence File Converter

      • For LabVIEW 6.0: Tools Menu » Test Executive » Utilities » Sequence File Converter

    2. You will get a converter panel where you will choose the sequence file to convert.

    3. Click on the 'Open' button and browse to the sequence to convert

    4. Click on the 'Convert to 5.1' button to convert the sequence file to a format compatible with Test Executive 5.1.1

    5. When finished click on the quit button
