Error 1073807343 Using GPIB-USB-HS in Linux

Hardware: Instrument Connectivity Other>>USB>>GPIB-USB-HS

Problem:
Why do I get an Error 1073807343 when using the GPIB-USB-HS with Red Hat Enterprise WS 4? My system currently is using NI-488.2 Version 2.5 Linux 32 Bit and Kernel 2.6.

Solution:
Linux kernel versions 2.6.9 and earlier may not configure GPIB-USB-HS devices connected to high-speed USB ports properly. You may see this problem occur with Mandrakelinux 10.1 official and Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 4.

Some of the problems you may experience include:

• GPIB-USB-HS not listed under Visa Configuration
  
• GPIB Interface Sequentially Verified test failed under the NI-488.2 Troubleshooting Wizard
  

• NI Spy Capture showing Error EDVR (0)

To correct this issue:

• Configure the USB port from high-speed to full-speed or hub
• Run rmmod echi_hcd as root to temporarily force all USB ports to operate at full speed
