Asserting Front Panel Trigger on GPIB-VXI/CHardware: GPIB>>Plug-in Controllers>>GPIB-VXI/C
Problem: How do I assert the front panel trigger of my GPIB-VXI/C? Solution: The TTL trigger on the front panel of the GPIB-VXI/C cannot be directly asserted. In order to assert this trigger, one must first assert a trigger on the backplane of the VXI chassis and route this trigger to the front panel connection. This can be done by sending a "SrcTrig [line], [protocol], [timeout]" as shown in the GPIB-VXI/C User's Manual. Followed by the "MapTrigTrig [from trig], [to trig], [mode]" command also outlined in the user manual. It is important to remember that the TTL lines on the chassis exhibit inverted logic, so in order to assert the front panel (to +5 Volts), it will be necessary to send the command to turn the trigger line off.
