Problem: I have a Compact Vision System (CVS) or NI 17xx Smart Camera onto which I am trying to install Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI) 3.5 or later. However, when I locate the device as a remote system in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) and choose to add or remove software on it, no entry appears for Vision Builder 3.5. How can I configure my CVS or Smart Camera for VBAI 3.5 or later? Solution: Beginning with versions of VBAI 3.5 or later, loading VBAI onto a CVS or Smart Camera should be done through the VBAI program itself.
If you are unable to load VBAI 3.5 onto a CVS-1454 due to it not having enough free space available, you may need to have it upgrade it to a later revision with a higher maximum memory capacity.
