PID VIs Behave Differently in LabVIEW 8.2Primary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>PID and Fuzzy Logic ToolkitPrimary Software Version: N/A Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: Why do my PID VIs behave differently in LabVIEW 8.2 than in previous versions of LabVIEW? Solution: Changes to the anti-windup algorithm were made to the PID VIs (pid.vi and advanced pid.vi) for LabVIEW 8.2 and 8.2.1. If you are working with older code or would still like to use the older VIs themselves, you can find the older version in the same location with the word "obsolete" appended to the end. For example, the previous PID (DBL).vi can be found in the same directory with the new name PID (DBL) obsolete.vi. The PID Control Toolkit for LabVIEW 8.5 has addressed the previous functionality concerns and kept the same behavior prior to 8.2, but improved considerably its performance for single and multiple channels.
