What Software Needs to be Installed to Activate the CompactRIO Recommended Software Sets in MAX?

Problem:
I have installed the August 2007 Driver CD or later, and I would like to use the recommended software sets for CompactRIO, but they are disabled. What software do I need to install to activate the recommended software sets?

Solution:
To install the recommended software sets for LabVIEW 8.x with NI RIO 2.4 or later, you need to install the following software in this order:

1. LabVIEW 8.2.1 or LabVIEW 8.5.1
2. LabVIEW Real-Time 8.2.1 or LabVIEW Real-Time 8.5.1
3. NI RIO 2.4 or later

To install the recommended software sets for LabVIEW 8.2.1 with NI RIO 2.3.x, you need to install the following software in this order:

1. LabVIEW 8.2.1 or later
2. LabVIEW Real-Time 8.2.1 or later
3. NI RIO 2.3 or later
4. NI-IrDA  1.0.2 from the August 2007 NI Driver CD

Note: NI-IrDA has been removed from the full recommended software sets for NI-RIO 2.4.0.
