Dip Switch Settings for the GPIB-422CVHardware: GPIB>>External Controllers/Convertors>>GPIB-422CV
Problem: I can't find a manual for the GPIB-422CV from National Instruments. How can I reconfigure the serial or GPIB settings for this device? Solution: National Instruments previously manufactured an RS-422 GPIB interfacing product that has been discontinued. The dip switch settings on the GPIB-422CV are exactly the same as the switch settings on the GPIB-232CV. This manual can be found in the related links section below. The GPIB-422CV has one more setting than the 232 version, however, which controls the compatibility mode of the RS-422 port: by default, the electrical specifications of the port are set to the "standard RS-422" settings. This is set on jumpers W4, W5, and W6 on the board by shorting pins 2 and 3. To change the compatibility mode to be compatible with the Macintosh serial port, change all three jumpers to short pins 1 and 2 instead. All other diagrams for U20 and U22 found in the GPIB-232CV manual are the same. Related Links: Product Manuals: GPIB-232CV User Manual National Instruments Product Manuals Attachments:
