Connecting Digital Triggers to cDAQ 9205

Hardware: CompactRIO>>Analog Input Modules>>NI 9215

Problem: I have connected a digital signal to PFI0 of a NI 9205 in slot 5 or 6 of a cDAQ-9172. When I try to trigger my NI 9205, it always triggers at the same point independent of rising or falling edges. How do I connect digital trigger signals to the NI 9205?

Solution: The trigger behavior can be caused by grounding issues. To resolve this issue, connect the digital ground of your source to the COM input on the NI 9205.
