Optimizing Properties for DIAdem DataFinder Search

Problem:
When I do an advanced search in my DataFinder I can click on the ... button on the far right to get a list of values for the basic properties.  How can I get make that list of values available for my custom properties?

Solution:
You can tell the search to optimize these custom properties by selecting Settings»My DataFinder»Optimize Custom Properties to open the Optimization window.

 

Click on one of the three tabs (File, Group, Channel) to select the level that contains the property you want to optimize.  Then scroll through the list to find your property, and change the second column from Not Optimized to Optimized.  You can repeate this process for multiple properties.

When you have selected all of the desired properties click OK to save the changes and close the window.
