DAQ Board Installation in the Mac OS
Hardware: Legacy DAQ Devices, Multifunction DAQ (MIO)
Problem: How do I install my DAQ board on Mac OS?
Solution:
- Did you install the NI-DAQ driver for your board? If not, please follow this link to install the NI-DAQ drivers
- After installing the drivers successfully, power off your computer and plug your board into the appropriate PCI slot of your computer bus
- Power on your computer.
- Launch the NI DAQ Configuration Utility from the NI DAQ folder chosen during the installation. You should see a window as shown below:
- Follow the steps to assign the default configuration of your board.
- Under "DAQ Devices" you should see your board listed as shown below:
If you don't see your device listed, please follow this troubleshooting link
- Highlight the board by clicking on it and choose "Configure." You will see the window as shown below.
- Click on "Test Resources." You will get a message that the board passed the test. If the test fails, please follow this troubleshooting link
- Click on "Run Test Panels" to perform simple input/output operations on various channels of your board.
Note: When you write your code using application software and you get bad readings or unexpected values, always run the NI-DAQ Test Panels mentioned in the previous step. This will help you troubleshoot your problem.
- Close the NI DAQ Configuration Utility and save your changes. You are now ready to write/run your DAQ application.
