Troubleshooting the Licensing and Activation of Motion Assistant Primary Software: Motion AssistantPrimary Software Version: 1.2 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I recently installed Motion Assistant 1.2 on a new computer and am having problems with the licensing and activation of this software. Whenever I attempt to apply an activation code, one generated through the internet or by calling technical support, I receive an error saying that my code is not valid for this product. What is causing this problem and how can I correct this problem for my new software? Solution: The most likely cause for this problem is the result of Motion Assistant incorrectly installing the NI License Manager. NI License Manager is a small application used to activate and manage your single-seat licenses or configure NI products on your system to obtain licenses from network license servers. The License Manager can be found by navigating in Windows to Start » Programs » National Instruments » NI License Manager. If you examine the version installed on your computer, Motion Assistant should have installed a version 3.0 or higher of NI License Manager. To correct the problem with activating Motion Assistant, the easiest solution is to upgrade Motion Assistant 1.2 to Motion Assistant 1.2.1. This is a free upgrade for existing users of a licensed copy of Motion Assistant 1.2. You can download the new version from our website linked to below. The second option is to manually install the version of NI License Manager from the Motion Assistant 1.2 CD. This is a quick solution as well and can be done by following these steps:
