What Is the 10 Pin Connector for the PCI-232/4 Commonly Referred To As?

Hardware: Serial>>RS-485>>PCI-485/4, Serial>>RS-232>>PCI-232/4

Problem: I am trying to build a custom cable for my PCI-232/4 or PCI-485/4 device. Your catalog shows that I need to use a 10 pin connector for this purpose. But I could not find information about the pins in the catalog. Is there a common industrial equivalent for this connector or is it simply the RJ 45 and the catalog has an error?

Solution: The catalog does not have an error. The connector pin is indeed 10 pins and not the conventional RJ 45. This connector is commonly referred to as RJ 50 or 10P10C (10 Positions 10 Connectors). You can use any standard RJ 50 connector to make the connections for this cable.

For a pin-out diagram of this connector you can refer to the Serial Quick Reference Guide linked below.
