Incorrect Analog Input Readings When Using a DAQCard Windows NT

Hardware: Legacy DAQ Devices>>Multifunction DAQ>>DAQCard-500

Problem: I am using a DAQCard-500, 516, or 700 on Windows NT. The analog input readings differ significantly from the applied voltage. Also, when I open the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), the Serial Number for the card shows up as "0".

Solution: On Windows NT, one of the parameters that must be properly configured is the PCCard Socket. If the socket is incorrectly specified, then neither the card serial number nor the calibration information can be loaded. Test Panels and applications will run without errors or warnings; however, the analog input will be uncalibrated (causing slight variations in both gain and bias).

To correct this issue, change the PCCard Socket parameter to the proper socket number for the card. To do this, go into MAX and find your DAQCard under the "Devices and Interfaces" heading. Right-click on the DAQCard and select Properties from the pop-up menu. Make the change to the PCCard Socket parameter. Reboot the computer and verify the fix by opening MAX and checking that the card has the proper serial number.
