Problem: The product catalog lists that four versions of the GPIB-1014 board have a GPIB port in the rear of the device. How can I connect instruments to this rear connector? Solution: The GPIB-1014-1, GPIB-1014-2, GPIB-1014-EH and GPIB-1014DP route the rear GPIB port to the VMEbus P2 connector on the rear of the board. On the GPIB-1014-2, there is no front GPIB connector and the GPIB I/O signals must be accessed through this rear connector. National Instruments has a cabling kit available for accessing the rear port of this card. It consists of a cable that has a VMEbus P2 connector on one end and a shielded chassis-mounted GPIB receptacle on the other. The connectors are connected by a 96-pin ribbon cable. Although not listed on the website, this adapter is orderable using part number 178062-20. Related Links: Product Reference: GPIB-1014 User Manual Attachments:
